VFS Faculty consists of the most highly trained professionals in the creative industries. While our full-time instructors provide more one-on-one time with students than any other school, our part-time instructors are pulled right from the heart of the industry, equipped with the most current, relevant industry experience and credits.

Tom
Fedechko

Head of Department

An experienced Writer and Performer, Tom has collaborated with creative people to produce and market cultural events in BC for over a decade, including Whistler Pride and Ski Festival. He has spent 20 years at VFS, focusing on empowering creatives to find full expression as professionals.

 

 

Jaclynn
Wong

Instructor

Jaclynn is a Producer with a Master's in Digital Media. She has managed over 34 projects spanning games, custom software, & digital entertainment. She empowers students to apply project management methodologies & tools in the development of immersive experiences.

 

Peter Kao

Instructor

Peter is an entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience in tech start-ups. As CEO of VR studio Metanaut, his current project is a VR puzzle game called Gadgeteer. Gadgeteer was listed as one of the most anticipated games of 2019 by PC Gamer, and made Forbes’ “Top 50 VR Games of 2019.”

 

Shane Nilsson

Instructor

Shane is an award-winning developer specializing in spatial computing. He co-founded Coal Car Studio in 2015, and has worked with HTC, Rogers, UBC, and BCIT on crafting immersive experiences. His projects range from an arcade-scale multiplayer game to a safety training pilot for WorkSafeBC.

 

Pushkar Patange

Instructor

Pushkar is a User Experience & Interface Designer at Archiact VR Game Studio. He’s worked with design studios and ad agencies in Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Pushkar has led teams that designed products, games, and experiences for clients such as General Motors, Pepsi, and more.

 

Erick Ross

Instructor

Erik is a programmer, designer, educator, and technical writer. His design experience includes video games, practical VR applications, and websites. He maintains a Unity tutorial website and teaches post-secondary part-time. He is currently working on Davigo, a VR vs PC video game.

 

Kat Wielgus

Instructor

Kat is an art and design generalist with over a decade working in gaming and VR. She divides her time between developing AAA games, supporting indie teams, and teaching. With over 12 titles shipped, she has extensive knowledge about development and how to turn ideas into released products.
