Experience All That the Acting Program Offers
Recognized as a Leading Acting School in North America (Casting Workbook), VFS’s Acting for Film & Television creative arts program has created artists that have performed in Killers of the Flower Moon, The White Lotus, Yellow Jackets, The Last of Us, and more. Experience first-hand the variety of industry disciplines you’ll train in as a VFS Acting student, including Feature Film, Sitcom Television, Voice Acting, and Motion Capture Acting.
A True TV Sitcom Room Experience
This is your chance to live your ultimate sitcom fantasy! Get live action sitcom acting experience on our classic VFS-built set and run a scripted scene with other attendees. Led by our Acting faculty, this exercise will give you first-hand experience of the high-pressure, exciting nature of sitcom life.
Experience How Motion Capture Brings a Performance to Life
VFS houses Beyond Capture – a 64,000 cubic foot performance capture stage where film, TV, and game scripts are brought to life by motion capture actors. See this in action through a live demo led by VFS Acting faculty and Beyond Capture staff. Watch as a script is performed on camera and discover how motion capture magic transforms your performance in real time. Beyond Capture’s impressive credits include The Fall of the House of Usher and this year’s in-arena cinematic video for the Vancouver Canucks.
Workshop Your ADR Voice Acting Skillset
Hosted by Marÿke Hendrikse, VFS Acting Instructor, join a voice acting ADR workshop and try your hand (or voice, rather!) at dubbing an animated show. A fascinating, yet hot-button sector of voice acting, Automated Dialogue Replacement – also known as dubbing – is the process of replacing an original voice performance with a new performance in a different language. Debate rages in the fan community about whether the ‘Dubs or Subs’ (subtitled shows) are superior; come to your own conclusion while building your ADR skillset.
Industry AMA – The Business of Acting
Join an industry Q&A session on The Business of Acting, hosted by Senior Instructor Bart Anderson and featuring VFS Acting faculty. With a focus on how to navigate the film & television industry from a business perspective, the panel will speak on how professional actors prepare their portfolio and techniques used in promoting themselves within the industry. Other topics will include demo reels, industry trends, headshots, resumes, working with agents & casting directors, how to formulate & execute a marketing plan, and how to effectively utilize self-promotion sites online. You’ll also have the chance to ask Bart and our faculty your industry questions.
A Brand-New Acting Program
Introducing the Acting Essentials Evening & Weekend Program, a Preparatory Program for aspiring actors looking to train for their career after hours while balancing their other commitments. At All Access Pass, you’ll learn all about this exciting new program – launching March 27!
