VFS named a ‘Best Film School in North America’ by MovieMaker for the 5th straight year

VFS is once again featured on MovieMaker’s list of top schools – a 5-year tradition of recognition.

Announcement Highlights:

  • Since 2020, Vancouver Film School has been included on MovieMaker’s list of top-tier film schools in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Other schools named alongside VFS include AFI Conservatory, Columbia University School of the Arts, and Toronto Film School.
  • MovieMaker hand-selected schools that all “offer top-notch equipment, experienced faculty, and abundant networking opportunities,” amongst other criteria.
  • Of the 31 schools featured, VFS is only 1 of 2 Canadian schools to be included.

(VANCOUVER, B.C.) July 29, 2024 – Vancouver Film School is excited to announce that it has once again been featured on MovieMaker’s 2024 list of 30 Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada. This is the fifth consecutive year that VFS has been featured. Additionally, VFS is one of only two Canadian institutions to be included in the 2024 list.

Since 2005, MovieMaker has annually critiqued and ranked the best of the best in post-secondary film education, highlighting schools around North America that provide the most comprehensive and valuable film industry training. “We have tried to balance the most elite schools with bargains, to ensure that everyone has the chance to make movies,” commented a representative from MovieMaker. “All offer top-notch equipment, experienced faculty, and abundant networking opportunities.”

Other institutions listed alongside VFS include AFI Conservatory, Columbia University School of the Arts, New York Film Academy, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Toronto Film School.
